Computer Processor – Intel Vs AMD

Computer processor or Central Processing Unit (CPU) is what programs you run on your computer. Powerful processor can get more things done than progress slower processor. There are two main CPU manufacturers in the market today: AMD and Intel. Two is the most popular is big enough, it was a difficult decision to choose one from the other. Some factors that, when comparing the two brands is the price, performance, durability and overclocking potential.

Rate

The price difference between Intel and AMD are always fluctuating, so that a reliable factor to consider, if you follow the evolution and development of computer usage. Every time new processor technologies created and equipped with Intel or AMD, the price of the previous generation processor set. Price war between Intel and AMD are as much a war better technology is developed and the first CPU.

Performance

Processor performance is dependent on the new processor generation. There was a time when AMD PC Game Master Niche and offer more value for the dollar. Since the release of Intel Core 2 Duo, offer faster and more stable than AMD at an affordable price. King was the Intel processor for high performance, especially with the latest technology, quad-core technology. AMD continues to offer high-performance processors, but they are usually more expensive than Intel’s. This could in the near future.

Lifetime

AMD processors built a lot of heat, if they involve an intensive user applications such as games and graphics software. Several times, the standard cooling function is not sufficient to protect AMD damaging overheating. Intel Core 2 Duo processor line, on the other hand, showed tolerance to heat and even with a special standard heatsink and fan. However, if too hot, AMD and Intel processors be damaged beyond repair. CPU real life is no big deal, because the average user generally upgrades their computers every three years or more.

Overclocking Potential

Only hardcore gamers and multimedia heavy users can be associated with overclocking the processor in combination. CPU clock started running at a higher speed than the specifications. It is possible to overclock the Intel E6600 at 2.4 GHz to 3.2 GHz. This is the defeat of 800 MHz speed increase! In general, the overall performance of the processor overclocking system for now, Intel has great overclocking potential bigger than AMD.

As mentioned earlier, you still follow the latest updates from Intel and AMD are the best in the processor market. If both CPU manufacturers, the new version of the product, you can rely on a sharp decline in prices for Refugees CPU line.

Quad Core – The Next Computer Processor

As we all know, Intel has used for the Netburst processor architecture for a long time, the end of 2000 is used. Architecture is finally up. This requires a more efficient technology, Intel, called the Core and the development of processors based on NetBurst architecture stop switch.

Core Microarchitecture

the first processor with Yonah Core microarchitecture, processor notebooks. These processors can run faster and more efficient than the performance per watt than before. Also double heart-processor for better performance at home was not so high.

Core 2 is the next series for the core processor. Figure 2 shows the second-generation processor core as the Pentium II, Pentium. A number of new technologies to optimize the latest digital processing of the applications that been implemented. Generation of Core 2 products are also introduced to the quad-core processor Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Series. This is the processor 4-core processor, each core of his work at 2.66 GHz and has 8MB of total L2 cache is named Kentsfield.

Quad-Core

Kentsfield XE, another name from the first desktop Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad-Core Intel PC was introducing in the last quarter of 2006. Differences with a series of Core 2 processors except the kernel is used, the amount of L2 cache and processor clock speed, of course.

According to Intel’s Kentsfield is a quad-core update Yorkfield line with the series. There will be many improvements made by Intel. One example is the L2 cache from 12 MB to 45-nanometer manufacturing technology, new SSE4 instructions to improve performance on multimedia applications, graphics, games and more functions encode and decode video. Unfortunately, the protective function against excessive speed (multiplier block) is on and off Yorkfield Extreme versions.

Although the same package, the LGA 775 quad core processor to the motherboard with a new chipset, Q35, Q33 and G31 are used. Moreover, in the future, more applications and games, optimization quad-core processors, including the Ice Storm Fighter relatively difficult for dual-core processor are prepared to change the platform.
